Scrap gains favour as earth-friendly resource
A global focus on environmental policies, along with a desire to reduce greenhouse gasses and energy consumption, will continue to drive long-term demand for recycled metals, says Schnitzer Steel Industries ceo Tamara Lundgren.
During a conference call on the company's fiscal 2018, Lundgren says that steel scrap usage has outpaced the growth in crude steel production in the first half 2018 in the US, China Japan, Turkey, and Russia, Kallanish reports.
