Roy Hill accidents push back commissioning
Australian iron ore project Roy Hill has been a dark cloud on the market’s horizon. Reports of a delay in commissioning and of accidents on site could lend some support to prices in the short term however, Kallanish notes.
The 55 million tonnes/year mine is not expected to begin shipments until the second week of October, rather than September, according to the Australian Financial Review. Roy Hill remains unwilling to confirm the delay officially.
