Red October shutters EAF and bar mill
In Russia, Red October (Krasny Oktyabr) has shuttered its No 1 meltshop indefinitely, and a further two divisions are expected to close within weeks, including its bar mill. This forced optimisation has been caused by the general economic situation in the country, amid falling demand and currency fluctuations, says the mill’s management.
