Posco’s first-quarter output rises on-year
South Korean steel producer Posco's output grew year-on-year but fell quarter-on-quarter in the first quarter.
The company produced 9.56 million tonnes of crude steel in the reporting period, up 5.4% y-o-y but down 0.2% q-o-q, Kallanish notes. Output of stainless steel, finished steel and finished steel sales were 488,000t, 8.92mt and 8.81mt respectively, up 1.5%, 22.6% and 2.2% on-year, but down 2.8%, 0.4%, and 2% on-quarter respectively.
