New DRI plant, rebar import duty boost Ezz Steel's prospects: bank
EFG Hermes remains positive on the long term prospects of Egyptian steelmaker Ezz Steel, whose new direct reduced iron plant should fuel margin expansion, the investment bank says in a report obtained by Kallanish.
Egypt’s imposition last month of a 200-day import tariff on rebar of 7.3% or EGP 290/tonne ($40.6/t), whichever is greater, is also seen triggering an increase in ex-works domestic prices that should feed through to margins.
