NSSMC to upgrade autosheet at Calvert plant
Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) says it plans to boost the strength of autosheet produced at its 50:50 joint venture with ArcelorMittal at Calvert in the USA by the end of 2016. The move will increase the plants ability to compete against aluminium for automotive use, as well as boost NSSMC’s crucial overseas earnings, Kallanish notes.
