Mobarakeh Steel starts thin-gauge PPGI output, advances with new slab caster
Mobarakeh Steel (MSC) has begun producing 0.3mm thick pre-painted galvanized coil (PPGI) for the first time since the launch of its hot-dip galvanizing and coating lines, Kallanish learns from Iran’s largest steelmaker.
In order to achieve the 0.3mm thickness, sheets entering the galv line must be no more than 0.26mm thick. This makes them more likely to tear when being galvanized, according to MSC.
