Megasa announces job cuts because of high energy costs
Spanish rebar and wire rod producer Megasa announced earlier this week that it is planning to make cuts to its workforce. Megasa employs 169 at its plant in Narón, but gave no further details regarding the number of proposed redundancies. According to statements released by the Spanish trade unions, this decision is likely to have been triggered by the increase in Spanish energy costs following new energy sector reforms.
