LKAB signals end to Narvik rail dispute
The locomotivemen’s strike in Narvik, Norway (see Kallanish 28 November) which has been disrupting Swedish miner LKAB’s iron ore shipments from its Kiruna mines is now over, Kallanish learns from the company.
LKAB says that an agreement has been reached by the company with the National Union of Norwegian Locomotivemen and that normal services have now been resumed. The dispute was over manning and salaries.
