Kungang completes blast furnace upgrade
South-western China’s Kunming Iron and Steel (Kungang), part of Wuhan Iron and Steel (Wugang), has completed the upgrade of the No. 2 blast furnace at its Honghe steelworks, local media report. Kungang has been a keen investor in both steelmaking in Southeast Asia and in following its parent company’s trend towards diversification away from steel, Kallanish notes.
