Kumba increases Q2 sales but decides to close Thabazimbi mine
South Africa’s Kumba Iron Ore Limited, part of Anglo American, saw production fall whilst sales increased in the second quarter ending 30 June 2015. In presenting its production and sales operating report for Q215, the company has simultaneously announced that it is to close its Thabazimbi mine after 80 years of operation "... for economic reasons."
