Krakatau adds ERW capacity
Indonesia’s PT KHI Pipe, a subsidiary of state-invested steelmaker PT Krakatau Steel, has commissioned a new ERW pipe mill, bringing capacity to 233,000 tonnes/year, the company says.
The new mill will target the developing oil and gas sector in the country, according to Purwono Widodo, director of PT KHI Pipe. The mill is the only one in the country that can supply 14-20 inch diameter pipes, he adds. The company can now produce ERW pipe with diameters…
