Korea to boost global presence with Brazil steelworks this year
Brazil’s Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem (CSP) expects to begin production at the end of 2015 and ship its first slab in March 2016, it says. The $4.6 billion joint venture between Brazil’s Vale and Korea’s Dongkuk Steel Mill and Posco could mark a new stage in Korea’s aggressive investments in steel internationally, although questions over its future remain, Kallanish notes.
