Japanese steel output up on Feb but still falling y-o-y
Japan produced 9.29 million tonnes of crude steel in March, up from 8.44mt in February but still down -4.5% year-on-year, according to the latest data from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF). March output puts the country on track to meet forecasts by Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) of a slight drop in overall output this year to around 110mt, Kallanish notes.
