JFE confirms Vietnam steelworks stake
Japan’s JFE Steel has announced it will buy a 5% stake in Formosa Ha Tinh Steel, Formosa Plastics Group’s Vietnamese greenfield steelworks project. The investment had been expected as Formosa courted JFE when the Japanese mill pulled out of a planned investment in Vietnam with Taiwan’s E United, Kallanish notes.
