Iron ore, steel plummet despite hopes of new stimulus

Seaborne iron ore prices fell sharply on Friday, losing much of the gains made earlier in the week. Chinese steel futures prices also lost ground despite increasing expectations of further fiscal support from Beijing. The Kallanish index for 62% Fe Australian fines dropped $2.25/tonne on Friday to $62/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao.
