Indonesia sets Chinese wire rod safeguard duties
Indonesia has set safeguard duties on imports of 5.5-20mm wire rod at 14.5% for the first year from 18 August. The country informed the World Trade Organization (WTO) that it would impose duties in January but took until August to decide the rate and set a starting date, Kallanish notes.
The duties apply to HS codes 72139110, 72139120, 72139190, 7213991010, 7213991020, 7213991090 and 72279000, which covers alloy rod imports from China. Investigation began in…
