Indonesia hopes new capacity will cut 2016 imports by $343m
Indonesia’s Investment Coordinating Board says there are 54 ongoing steel projects which could help the country reduce its steel imports by $343.2 million next year. Although some of these projects may never come to pass, the country is boosting its capacity and aims to capture as much of its growing demand as it can, Kallanish notes.
