High operating cost to offset state aid financial benefit for NWR mine closure: Moody's
The CZK 600 million ($25m) contribution by the Czech government to the social costs of closing the Paskov mine at the end of 2017 is credit positive for coal miner New World Resources (NWR). However, at current depressed coal prices, the reduced cash outflow NWR incurs in 2017 will be offset by the cash burnt by the mine over the next three years, according to Moody’s.
