Hebei steelmaking falls as Jiangsu picks up slack
A fall in official steelmaking figures in the northern Chinese province of Hebei, was partially offset by a pick-up in production in other areas such as Jiangsu, according to official figures from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). While the figures may not be 100% reliable, the trend confirms the intense pressure Hebei is under to reduce pollution, Kallanish notes.
