French consortium and Ovako acquire Ascometal.
Swedish engineering steels producer Ovako together with a French consortium has confirmed that it is to takeover engineering steels producer Ascometal as ruled today (May 22) by the commercial court of Nanterre (Paris).
A source close to the case tells Kallanish that the winning consortium is ready to invest €230m ($314m) to maintain the six Ascometal sites and to retain 1820 workers out of 1900. The French government is also prepared to invest €35…
