National metallurgy chamber says Egypt should hike rebar duty
Egypt’s duty on rebar imports should be increased to 18%, the country’s metallurgy chamber says. This is because the 8% tariff levied in April has proven ineffective at protecting local mills from imports given international steel prices have since fallen further. The hryvnia and lira depreciations have also made Ukrainian and Turkish product more competitive.
