National metallurgy chamber says Egypt should hike rebar duty

Egypt’s duty on rebar imports should be increased to 18%, the country’s metallurgy chamber says. This is because the 8% tariff levied in April has proven ineffective at protecting local mills from imports given international steel prices have since fallen further.
