Egypt rebar market slows after import flurry
Activity in Egypt’s rebar market has slowed this week after a busy month for imports in August. Although numerous local producers have been forced to lower capacity utilization due to energy shortages, the reduced domestic supply is not being felt due to weak demand, market participants tell Kallanish.
