Egypt fracking deal could alleviate steelmakers' energy shortages
Egypt has signed a deal with the US Apache Corporation and Shell for the exploration and production of unconventional gas through fracking in Egypt’s western desert. If successful, the project could provide a boost to domestic steelmakers whose production costs and rates often suffer from natural gas shortages.
