DRI plant launch to boost Ezz performance after shipment decline in 2014
The commissioning by year-end of Ezz Steel’s new 1.85 million tonnes/year direct reduced iron plant will make a “significant contribution” to future performance, the Egyptian steelmaker says. Ezz reported a -9% on-year decline in consolidated shipments to 4.3 million tonnes in 2014, as it suffered from “continued deterioration” in the global steel sector and “detrimental” conditions at home.
