Posco, Chonggang establish autosheet JVs
China’s Chongqing Iron and Steel (Chonggang) and South Korea’s Posco signed last week two joint venture agreements to add 2.4 million tonnes/year of autosheet capacity in Chongqing. The project is officially separate from Posco’s efforts to sell a Finex plant to Chonggang, although the latter has proceeded more quickly since the autosheet venture was first announced, Kallanish notes.
