Chonggang begins work on pipe mill relocation

China’s Chongqing Iron and Steel Group (Chonggang) began construction of the new site for its 150,000 tonnes/year seamless pipe mill on 1 July. The mill is expected to be commissioned in June 2016, Kallanish learns. The new mill will be able to roll pipe up to 114mm in diameter and replaces a mill in urban Chongqing which is being closed for environmental reasons.
