Chinese steel production falls in Jan-Feb
China produced 130.53 million tonnes of crude steel over January-February, down 1.5% year-on-year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. The fall raises the possibility of the first annual fall in crude steel production in decades, Kallanish notes.
The decline leaves China’s daily output over the first two months of 2015 at 2.21mt, and annualised output at 807.52mt, down from actual steel output of around 823mt in 2014.
