Chinese steel output falls but demand not as weak as feared
China produced 69.48 million tonnes of crude steel in March, down -1.2% year-on-year, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). Analysis of the data also suggests that, while domestic steel demand is weaker than last year, the fall is slowing, Kallanish notes.
