Chinese mills warned on profits
China’s steelmakers’ financial results show little promise despite falling iron ore costs. Loss making firms are still struggling to pull themselves “out of the mud”, according to an analysis by China Metallurgical News monitored by Kallanish. Most steel prices are weak, margins remain thin and excess capacity means some companies should be forced out of the market, it believes.
