China Steel reduces slab procurement from NSSMC
Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC) is this year reducing its dependency on slab imported from Japan’s Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC), according to a plan approved by CSC’s board last week. The cut is a significant hit to Japan’s steel export volumes, Kallanish notes.
