Boggabri coal mine completes expansion

The Boggabri Coal Mine in Australia’s New South Wales has completed its capacity expansion to 7 million tonnes/year of thermal and metallurgical coal, according to recent investor Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC). The expansion adds the level of captive supply to the group of Japanese companies which own the project, Kallanish notes. NSSMC took a 10% stake in the mine in March this year.
