Bengang removes small blast furnaces
Benxi Beiying, part of Benxi Iron and Steel Group (Bengang) in northern China’s Liaoning province, has begun the demolition of six blast furnaces as part of China’s moves to eliminate outdated capacity, the company reports. The furnaces were among those listed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for demolition by the end of 2014, Kallanish notes.
