BMZ ramps up steel cord supply to Continental
Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) will supply international tyre-maker Continental with 32,800 tonnes of steel cord in 2019, the largest annual volume in the two companies' 23-year long cooperation, the steelmaker says.
Supplies commenced in 1995 with 15,000t of steel cord, doubling to 30,000t by 2018. BMZ produced 91,000t of the product in 2018, and exported it to 17 countries, including Russia, Germany, Czech Republic, Romania and Slovenia, Kallanish notes.
