ArcelorMittal may call off Avils expansion because of Spanish electricity costs
In northern Spain, ArcelorMittal has reportedly threatened to call off its planned investments at its Avilés plant. These will be put at risk if the Spanish authorities do not reconsider their proposal to change the way electricity allocation is managed via the so-called ‘interruptibility service’ for peak industrial users.
