ATI locks out union workers as contract negotiations collapse
US specialty steelmaker Allegheny Technologies Inc (ATI) has temporarily locked out more than 2,200 employees at 12 of its facilities in 6 states after labour contract negotiations with the United Steelworkers (USW) union collapsed.
ATI will continue to operate the affected facilities with salaried and non-union employees and temporary staffing until a new contract can be finalized, Kallanish understands.
