AK furnace reline completes ahead of schedule and on budget
US steelmaker AK Steel has completed the reline of the blast furnace hearth at its Ashland, Kentucky plant ahead of schedule and on budget, Kallanish learns from a statement by the company.
The work was completed in 27 days, within the 28 days originally allowed, and the total investment and cost outlay was on target at $50 million, the amount indicated in AK’s guidance for the fourth quarter.
