Brazilian steel companies seen closing in H1 2016

Up to 24 Brazilian steel-related companies are expected to close in the first half of 2016, according to Brazilian steel institute Instituto Aço Brazil (IAB) forecasts. “This is the worst crisis in the history of the Brazilian steel industry,” says IAB president Marco Polo de Mello Lopes in a report seen by Kallanish. According to the president, “…there is nothing that signals a recovery of the domestic market in 2016.”…
