2023 steel growth to be impacted by uncertainty, Eramet
The global steel market should stabilise this year. However, freight costs may increase again while remaining at lower levels compared to 2022. Uncertainty also continues around energy costs which could remain “at a historically high level”, French miner Eramet says in its 2022 earnings report, adding it benefits from long-term supply contracts for 80% of its electricity needs.
