Tangshan 2017 capacity cuts involves 12 steelmakers
Hebei province’s Tangshan city will involve 12 steelmakers in its 2017 overcapacity campaigns, according to the local government. It needs to cut 5.7 million tonnes/year of iron, 10.06m t/y of steel, 3.6m t/y of coke and 1.5m t/y of coal capacity in 2017. The new target for steel cuts is higher than the goal at the end of last year, Kallanish notes.
