VinFast, Gotion explore LFP gigafactory in Vietnam
Vietnam’s EV start-up VinFast is mulling the construction of a gigafactory in Vietnam to produce lithium iron phosphate (LFP) EV batteries, Kallanish learns from the company.
The ambition is part of a partnership with China’s LFP battery manufacturer Gotion High-Tech Co. The parties signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly carry out R&D and production of LFP. Discussions are in early stages.
