US mulls $100m funding for new energy storage pilots
The US Department of Energy (DOE) is considering launching a $100 million investment programme to support pilot-scale demonstrations for non-lithium, long-duration energy storage solutions.
It would be directed at a minimum of three and a maximum of 15 projects, which would receive $5-20m each. At least 50% of the project cost would have to be covered by private investment, Kallanish understands.
