US company produces lithium hydroxide from clay deposits
US-based American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) says it has produced lithium hydroxide material from claystone extracted at the Tonopah Flats lithium project in Nevada.
The lithium hydroxide was produced in demonstration-scale quantities at the company’s processing facility. It will be sent to automotive OEMs, battery cell manufacturing, and cathode manufacturers as part of negotiations to sign long-term purchase offtake agreements.
