Umicore secures green power for Finnish battery materials production

Umicore said Thursday it has secured a supply of green electricity to power its production of precursor cathode active materials (pCAM) and cobalt refining operations in Finland, Kallanish reports. The materials company entered two long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Statkraft and Gasum, with supplies starting in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
