UK EV sales growth starts to decelerate
Growth in the UK’s new market for electric vehicles – both all-electric and plug-in hybrid – has started decelerating, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said on Tuesday.
Registrations for both BEV and PHEVs rose by only 26% in the first half of the year, compared to an increase of 161.3% in H1 2021. Year-to-date, one in five new car registrations were of an electric vehicle.
