Toyota to assemble new battery electric SUV in Kentucky
Toyota says it will assemble a new three-row battery electric sport utility vehicle in Kentucky, starting in 2025. The company’s first US-assembled BEV will be powered by batteries from North Carolina, Kallanish reports.
The move demonstrates the company’s belief in electric vehicles and confirms that the Kentucky plant in Georgetown will lead the company’s carbon reduction efforts, Toyota says. That plant can produce 500,000 vehicles/year.
