Toyota, Redwood Materials expand US battery recycling agreement
Toyota Motor North America is expanding its recycling agreement with Redwood Materials, furthering the creation of a closed-loop battery ecosystem.
As part of the long-term agreement, Toyota will source cathode active material (CAM) and anode copper foil from Redwood. In turn, the recovered CAM will be used to produce new batteries at Toyota’s battery manufacturing facility in North Carolina, which is expected to go online in 2025.
