Toyota pumps $550m into self-driving acquisition
Lyft is selling its self-driving vehicle unit, Level 5, to a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation for $550 million, Kallanish reports.
The deal announced on 26 Monday includes multi-year non-exclusive commercial agreements, which would enable Toyota’s Woven Planet subsidiary to speed up development of automated driving technology. Completion is expected in the third quarter of 2021, subject to regulatory approval.
