Tesla eyeing Texas lithium refinery, seeking state tax breaks
Tesla says it is looking at developing a lithium refinery on the Texas Gulf Coast, Kallanish reports.
In a letter to Texas officials, the carmaker says it is seeking state tax breaks on the facility that would produce battery-grade lithium hydroxide to supply its electric vehicle plants. The lithium refinery would be the first of its kind in North America, the company says.
