Tenaris to invest in hydrogen steelmaking in Italy
Italian firms Tenaris, Edison and Snam signed on Monday a letter of intent to launch a project aimed at using hydrogen in some parts of steelmaking operations, Kallanish reports.
The project will focus in studying the supply of hydrogen to the Dalmine plant and adapt the mill for the use of it in the steelmaking process. The plant is an electric arc furnace-based steelmaker and the use of hydrogen could lower further CO2 emissions from the site, by replacing natur…
